Came in the Gard, the Cevennes, three years ago, I had met with a copy of Zerynthia polyxena.
In May 2009, the last few days, I travel this road around where I hope to see Diana.

Walking on the right side of the road, then a car passes by quickly, I saw on the opposite side wall of a brown spot. Intrigued, I cross the road to discover - what a surprise! - Two peacocks Great Night (Saturnia pyri Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) coupled!

The male presents the female in the sun. However, stone and cement - affected hand - are still fresh. The cars pass quickly without disrupting our Saturniidae. The mating is over, the male goes away and the female remained on the wall all day, fits the sun's path to find shade.
